The Interstate Hockey League has finished its edits for its upcoming inaugural season.
Bay City Americans
The Interstate Hockey League was super proud to announce the revival of the long lasting Bay City Americans name
The Bay City Americans, a team in the Central Michigan Hockey League from 1935-1975, a team pivotal in the development of there current home, the Bay County Ice Arena.
"It was an absolute no brainer for the league to revive such a meaningful name to the city, when we toured the rink (Bay City General Manager TJ Simerson) and saw the display, we knew we had to get it back.
Another smart and easy decision, reviving the old vipers name and color scheme.
The Detroit Vipers where another legendary team in the Detroit area, existing from 1994-2001 in the International Hockey League, winning the league title in 1997.
St. Ignace Grizzlies
The St. Ignace took the former Port Huron team name north with them to St. Ignace, the team name is representing the old Northern Michigan Black Bears name from the NOJHL and for the arena, known as Little Bear East Arena and Community Center.
